Pet Food Distribution Program
Pet Central Helps! offers a Pet Food Distribution Program for low-income households. This program is held on the second Saturday of the month from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at our shelter, located at 360 Wylie Dr. Suite 720 in Normal. Participants will join the drive-through line during this time frame and wait in their cars to receive food. This is a supplemental food program and food is given out while supplies last.
Eligibility: Please bring a current Social Security, Link, SNAP, or Medicaid eligibility letter, or current check stub(s) for all family members.
Pet Central Helps! will feed up to 4 pets per household. Pets over 6 months of age must be spayed/neutered to receive food. Line up so we can steer you in the right direction if you need to get them fixed!
Pet Identification Tags
Identification tags play a crucial role in reuniting lost pets with their owners. We recommend every pet has an engraved Identification tag that can be work on their collar or harness. Pet Central Helps! offers engraved pet identification tags at our shelter located at 360 Wylie Dr. Suite 720 in Normal. Stop in during business hours and ask for an engraved tag up front.

Rehoming Assistance
Rehome by Adopt a Pet: https://rehome.adoptapet.com
Rehome by Adopt a pet is a free resource where you can safely create an account and find the purr-fect new family for the pet you need to rehome. You can post pictures and biography information, screen adopters, and select a new home for your pet with ease, just like your local rescue group!

If we can bring the pet through our adoption program, we will reply and set up a surrender appointment with you. Space at Pet Central Helps! is not guaranteed, so we recommend contracting multiple groups
Pet Resource Groups on Facebook: Check out pet groups in your area on Facebook or other social media platforms. You can often post your pet for rehome within these groups of animal lovers and speak directly with people interested in adopting your pet.
Other Shelters/Rescue Groups in the area: There are multiple rescue groups operating in the Bloomington-Normal area. Reach out to see if they have space to help.

Low-Cost Veterinary Care
Pet Central Helps! offers a low-cost clinic with affordable options for individuals looking to get their cat spayed or neutered through our PetFix program. The clinic also accepts community cats that have been trapped by individuals caring for them. Individuals also have the option to add age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping and flea prevention to their list of low-cost services.
How to book an appointment: Please complete the PetFix application below. After you complete your application, you will be sent a text link with a secure check out for the services you have selected. PetFix services MUST be paid for before your appointment time. After your services have been paid for, we will reach out to you by email with your appointment slot. Please monitor your email inbox and text messages after completing your application. Be sure to check that you have entered your email and phone number correctly on your application.

$125.00: Spay/neuter procedure, FVRCP vaccine, Rabies vaccine
$65.00: Low-income spay/neuter, FVRCP vaccine, Rabies vaccine
$15.00: Microchip
$9.50: Revolt 30-day flea prevention for cats and kittens
$7.50: Capstar quick kill flea capsule
$10.00: FVRCP booster vaccine (completed two weeks after initial FVRCP vaccination)

Just Animals Shelter is a nonprofit organization based out of Mazon, IL that offers vaccine/prevention clinics for dogs in the East Peoria, Mazon, and Aurora area. Their clinic schedule is posted online.
